Pelancongan ke Vietnam

Oi, oi, apa lu orang cakap ini? Nak cakap Bahasa Melayu sekarang, is it?

OK, saya tak ada benda nak "post" sini, kerana saya amat sibuk dengan pelajaran saya dan tak ada hidup lagi--sugguh sedih, saya tahu. Jadi, saya akan "post" untuk Stephanie, perempuan itu yang jarang "post" juga. Si Steph kirim kepada saya sebuah (saya rasa penjodoh bilangan ini tidak "correct") CD yang mengandungi gambar-gambarnya semasa dia melancong ke Vietnam. Tapi, saya tidak tahu apa maksud gambar-gambar dia, kerana dia tidak beritahu saya dalam surat. So, Steph: kamu mesti "explain" gambar-gambar kamu dalam seksyen "comments" OK???

kerja oh kerja...

hari ini saya stress sikit... oleh tu, saya akan ber-blog dalam bahasa malaysiaku yang tidak begitu canggih. dan juga sejak berpindah ke australia, saya rasa lebih bangga kerana tahu bahasa yang lain daripada bahasa inggeris.

apa khabar, kawan-kawan? saya harap semua rasa gembira dan tidak segila sepertiku. ada banyak kerja sekarang. saya tahu kerana bos-bos saya 'confident' bahawa saya boleh buat kerja yang agak baik, mereka bagi lebih kerja untuk buat... tetapi saya juga tidak tahu macam mana nak beritahu mereka, "NO!". dan saya biasa buat semua kerja semasa kerja di kl (one leg kick!!), saya tak biasa nak bagi orang lain buat. so it's really my own bloody fault sometimes... sigh.

anyways... bagaimana semua pelan kahwinan, suan? jangan stress sangat ya... nanti kelihatan letih dalam gambar kahwinan. saya harap saya akan dapat pulang bagi hari perkahwinanmu, tetapi tiket penerbangan saya adalah untuk satu tahun (1-year open ticket la) dan hari yang terakhir adalah Januari 4 2008!!!

al... saya suka grafik baru yang anda buat untuk blog kita. sungguh stylo-mylo... seperti logo Charlie's Angels.

jian... hebat kamu sekarang berada di paris. dan musim panas akan datang, tentu paris lebih cantik buat masa tu.

jan... saya masih ingin tahu bagaimana rupa si alex lye... tunjuklah gambar dia...

esta... suka tak kerja kat singapura? jangan jadi kiasu macam mereka ya...

okie dokie.... cukuplah tu... sampai saya berasa segila seperti sekarang, saya akan meninggalkan si kawan-kawanku dengan gambar saya yang terletak di intranet pejabat saya, kerana di sini ada lebih kurang 200 orang yang kerja kat sini, mereka letak gambar dan nombor telefon setiap pekerja supaya lebih senang kalau nak cam orang...

Papanicolaou test

Suan says maybe this is not a good topic to be blogging about. I agree. With Suan that is. But, i also know that most of you guys (if you anything like me) have not had this test yet! If that is so, you (like me) are 8 years too late. Doc said you were suppose to start at 21 (some even tell me at age 18), and it should be an annual test - especially if your family has a history of cancer genes.

Anyway, i went for my first test (8 years too late) day before yesterday. And btw, i hate doctors.. of any kind. (I dont really hate them, but stay away from them as much as i could). My gyny (not sure if that is how its spelled) is a Vietnamese lady in her mid-30s. (I insisted on a female doc). The test really wasnt as bad as ppl describe it to be. The actual test took about 2 minutes.. tops! The doc did talk alot though. And, when the nurse, who did pre-consultation, realized it was my first, she mentioned they have special instruments (aka not so big and not metal). So, do ask for it.

Also, the latest (not so breaking) news is that there is a vaccine for cervical cancer called Gardisil. And, btw, 300,000 women around the world each year die of cervical caner... so, don't take this lightly and go to the test. :)

PS: Never go to a bull fight...

Since I was in the spirit of posting pics of my travels, I realised I forgot to post these, taken when we went to Valencia. We decided to go see a bull fight because we never really knew what it was all about. It's such a cruel sport! They taunt the poor bull and shove these sharp (and I suspect, hooked) sticks into his upper boy until he has lost enough blood and is hurt before the main bullfighter then shoves a long sword through the suffering bull a few times (i.e he was cheating all along because the bull isn't in a condition to really fight back) before properly killing it. I was grimacing and making too much noise & left early after I realised what it was all about! eek. What was MORE surprising was that the crowd were cheering and clapping after the bull died. What did the poor thing do wrong to deserve such a cruel death??? So say "NO!" to bullfights ok, my fellow biatches.

Plates plates and more plates in the Grand Bazaar - a 'shopping mall' built by the first Sultan of the Ottoman Empire in 1461. The guy was a clever man.

I got back from Istanbul after having spent a long weekend there - Monday was a Bank Holiday, so the man suggested I fly over and visit. Istanbul is such a beautiful city and with so much history. I enjoyed myself, gallavanting to the many historical sites. The man had to work most of my visit, but I liked walking around the city and just absorbing the beauty of the mosques and palaces (not to mention, I enjoyed the heat whilst London was wet & cold!).

Here are some pics which I took - I visited the Aya Sofya (the only church & mosque in the world), the Topkapi and Dolmabahce Palaces (the monarchs of the Ottoman empire lived in Topkapi and then moved to Dolmabahce in the 19th century), the Blue Mosque and underground cisterns (where apparently they filmed the scene where Bond was rowing amongst marble columns in 'From Russia with Love'). Also went shopping at the Grand Bazaar ( which was build by the first Sultan of the Ottoman empire in 1481 - there are more than 4000 shops in there and it was more a labyrinth than anything else!!) and Spice Market, where I bought LOADS of saffron for only £2. Would've cost about £100 over here for all that saffron I bought, I reckon!! The local hand-painted plates are also so pretty - various designs & colours which would put Wedgewood to shame. The man & I also managed to get onto a cruise on the Bospurus river, which separates Europe & Asia - we went all the way to the mouth of the Black Sea! The cruise didn't take that long - only about an hour an a half in total, but it was really nice to see the sights from the boat.

Apparently, my mom's dad's forefathers are from Turkey. That may explain my strong sense of 'coming home'...more pics to come! Picassa only allows 4 per blog. What a draggggg.

Had a little-do for my brother's 30th birthday at a friend's house. It was a suprise party but it was pretty hard to suprise the guy. In the end he told us, "I'm hungry. Just take me there to eat now!".
